Umm what exactly is wrong with ToV outselling SC4? Not to mention SC4 sold more this week (in its 10th week) than ToV sold (in its 9th week).

Also Persona 4 passes 300k! Best selling Persona since the original.

@Montana: I can only hope you are serious about Apollo. There are some bad ones on here, and this site is pro Wii to a fault but his/her trolling is one of the reasons I almost refuse to even visit this site anymore. If he/she ever had a point other than hateful trolling it would be ok, but that's not the case. Trashing the PS3 when only the Wii had a hardware increase and it was 2% and the X360 had the biggest drop not to mention they ALL slipped in software (economy, not a popular sales time in Japan right now, etc). In mentioning the US economy I am not being US-centric but sadly our pathetic economy IS having an effect on the rest of the world, sorry world for George W Bush :(

@Apollo: Grow up, seriously. You have made yourself ugly by hating on the PS3 in every single way you can. There are a couple others that get close but you beat them all hands down.

@Sgouldbourn

4 weeks in a row. I am not sure how the 360 sold that many when it only sold 12k of software, very strange.
Posted on: 10/09/08, 08:32
GloryhornetEmmo says:
I just thought, maybe it is people buying the machine ready for Last Remnant, to avoid the inevitable shortages. The Arcade pack sells well in Japan so they have 5 games to play while they are waiting.

Very sad PS3 numbers :/

Sony must show big name RPGs at the TGS (but I doubt it though), otherwise it will be very ugly year end for them. The japanese PS3 lineup is very weak compare to every other console :(

Come one M$ and Sony, release some decent games for your new consoles. riding off the back of MGS and whatever new SE game is released for your dying consoles isn't going to help...actually, isn't PES09 out soon?

What do you guess first week for The Last Remnant? My guess:

140.000 units in japan.
230.000 lifetime in japan

PS. Remember the Blue Dragon ;)

FOR ALL PPL!

Sales aren't down... in Japan i mean.

last year , from 2 oct 2007 to 8 oct 2007 wii was 24.143
and ps3 was 13.105

now, in the same period wii is 27.050
and now ps3 is 7.560

In Jap only ps3 is down

who wrote sales are down everywhere?

Japan sales are really boring at this time of year. Look.... there is a good chunk of the top 10 on Sony platforms.

robbo918 says:
@Tabsina: Thanks lol. I don't hold much stock in the poll though as it doesn't match the comments that are posted. I don't care that it comes off as pro Wii to me, but with people like Apollo and Maynard they make it rough at times. Its honestly no big deal which console a site favors as long as they can be adults, again unlike the two I mentioned.

I may not love the Wii but it has brought some new things to the table. I hate X360 because I am anit-MS but I still want it on the market as competition is good. All 3 consoles have pros and cons. I just can't stand trolls like Apollo, I just need to ignore him I guess. Anyway, to each their own.

@Mimmogay: Sales are down from the previous week is what most people were talking about, not year to year. Flash comparisons rarely are about year to year. Week to week is a gauge of the current economy/fluctuations, year to year is more historical.

In regards to Afrika, I am in Japan for TGS reporting and Afrika is being heavily advertised on the trains in the Yamanote line. I imagine this is helping.

As for the 360 software sales. Checked out multiple shops in Akihabara today and the 360 does appear to be selling. The couple of times I saw someone buy the system though, they would usually pick up two or three used games to go with it. Nothing new (why get new copies of LO or BD when you can get used for about 1000 - 1500 yen less).

Compared to the Xbox presence in Japan, the 360 is actually getting some decent shelf space, at least in Akiba.
